USB Gadmei TV on Linux Ubuntu

$hg clone http://mcentral.de/hg/~mrec/em28xx-new
$make
#make install
#sudo modprobe em28xx

will create video link (dev/video)

use tvtime to watch TV

no sound? use sox to redirect sound. install sox if you have not installed it yet.

#sudo apt-get libsox-fmt-oss

save  below lines as mytv.sh

#!/bin/sh
padsp sox -r 48000 -2 -v 1 -c 2 -t ossdsp /dev/dsp1 -t ossdsp /dev/dsp &
tvtime
killall sox

to scan available channel, use tvtime-scanner

here is what i’ve got

Found a channel at 526.25 MHz (525.25 – 527.25 MHz), adding to channel list.
Found a channel at 542.50 MHz (541.25 – 543.50 MHz), adding to channel list.
Found a channel at 558.50 MHz (557.25 – 559.50 MHz), adding to channel list.
Found a channel at 574.50 MHz (573.25 – 575.50 MHz), adding to channel list.
Found a channel at 590.25 MHz (589.25 – 591.00 MHz), adding to channel list.
Found a channel at 606.50 MHz (605.50 – 607.50 MHz), adding to channel list.
Found a channel at 622.50 MHz (621.50 – 623.25 MHz), adding to channel list.
Found a channel at 702.50 MHz (701.50 – 703.25 MHz), adding to channel list.
Found a channel at 718.50 MHz (717.50 – 719.25 MHz), adding to channel list.
Found a channel at 734.25 MHz (733.25 – 735.25 MHz), adding to channel list.
Found a channel at 750.00 MHz (749.25 – 750.50 MHz), adding to channel list.
Found a channel at 766.50 MHz (765.50 – 767.50 MHz), adding to channel list.
Found a channel at 782.25 MHz (781.25 – 783.25 MHz), adding to channel list.

To make tvtime use this setting, go to tvtime menu using right click.

Select  “Channel Management” then “Change Frequency Table” and select “Custom”. Quit.
